June – what we have planted: beans (green/yellow bush, soy, kidney, cranberry), tomatoes (whopper, big beef, super sweet cherry, brandywine), peppers (green bell, sweet Romanian, jalapeño, banana, red chile), cucumber, zucchini, yellow squash, cantaloupe, watermelon, corn, okra, basil.

This year, we placed a shade-cover over the tomatoes to keep them from getting scorched and cooked in the sun and so far it’s working well. The frame is made from PVC pipe and covered with 30% shade-cloth.

• The garden is tilled and the plants grown from seed are almost ready to plant!
