- Kennedy Space Center, Titusville, FL: always the highlight for our family!
- Howell Living History Farm, Lambertville, NJ – not too much there, but DH‘s parents are right next door so we go whenever there’s an event worth seeing when we’re visiting. (A few pics here, in the middle of the album)
Campgrounds (mainly with Scouts, but useful here)
- Adventure Bound Campground, Kitty Hawk – open and wooded areas, small bath house, loud peafowl. Hostel next to group camping. Won’t come here again.
- Lake Powhatan Recreation Area, Pisgah National Forest in Asheville – camped here in the fall and it was nice (except cold). The bath house was newly renovated and nicely heated. It’s also right next to the NC Arboretum, which is a nice place to visit.
- Carolina Beach State Park – won’t go there again (no private showers, not very clean bath house, sites are first come first served).
- Cherokee (Flaming Arrow Campground)
- Falls Lake, Rolling View
- Falls Lake, B.W. Wells – group tent camping, bath houses not great, but sites are good for groups.
